McKenzie
Driftboat Floats for Salmon and
Steelhead
The
best way for you to experience the awesome fighting
ability of these excellent gamefish is on our
McKenzie Driftboat floats.
With
our highly mobile driftboats, we cover an
incredible
amount of prime holding water using
state-of-the-art equipment and deadly efficient
fish producing techniques. The woodland scenery and
whitewater excitement of our float excursions,
together with a quality angling experience, make
these outings our most popular trip. We float fish
on the Salmon, Oswego, and Black
Rivers.
STEELHEAD!
The
Steelhead Trout is, without a doubt, the hardest
fighting fish that swims the Salmon
River!
Imagine
yourself battling one-on-one with an acrobatic,
tail-walking, Steelhead in fast flowing whitewater
rapids. It's an exhilarating experience. Steelhead
are in the rivers from mid-October to mid-May, but
the best months are November, December, February,
March, and April.
Guided
Steelhead Float trips are 8-hours in length, with a
maximum of two persons per boat, and we supply all
of the tackle and equipment you'll
need!

SALMON!

These
Salmon are on their spawning runs and because of
their aggressive and territorial nature, they are
easily caught on wobbling diving plugs, flies, egg
sacks, or egg imitations.
Doing
battle with a 20 to 30 pound Chinook Salmon on
medium or lightweight tackle in fast-flowing water
is a tug of war you'll no doubt remember for a
lifetime. September and October are the prime
months to chase Salmon in our
rivers.
